Library Hours - Summer 2011

Summer building hours are Monday-Friday, 8:00am-4:30pm, with the following exceptions:

Saturday, June 4th, 10:00am-4:00pm (Reunion weekend)

Sunday, June 5th, 10:00am-4:00pm (Reunion weekend)

Musselman Library is going mobile! You can now access library information and services from your mobile devices. If you visit the Library homepage (www.gettysburg.edu/library) on your mobile device, you will automatically be redirected to a version of the site optimized for smartphones. There you will see quick links to hours, library contact information, MUSCAT, call number locations in the library and more. The mobile version of this page can be seen at www.gettysburg.edu/library/m. If you have suggestions on how we can improve our mobile site, please contact library_web@gettysburg.edu.

Students can now pay library fines through QuickPay

This fall Musselman Library will join other campus departments in billing monthly through financial services. This means that students can now pay library fines through QuickPay online. No more cash only transactions at the Circulation Desk or fines that need to be settled at the end of the semester.

You can avoid fines by returning or renewing items on time.

RSS feeds: Find out about new library books, dvds, and more!

Want to know what DVDs we purchased recently? New CDs? Books in the Browsing Room?

If you're curious about which titles have been recently added to the Musselman Library collections, visit our Featured lists and RSS Feeds page.

You can view the lists online anytime. Or, subscribe to the RSS feed to have lists pushed to you regularly.

As with any RSS feed, you can view updated content in the feed reader of your choice (Google Reader, Bloglines). Lists are updated throughout the week.

To all campus library borrowers re: EZ Borrow

On June 1 2010, Musselman Library will end its participation in the EZ Borrow loan service. PALCI (Pennsylvania Academic Library Consortium, Inc.), the consortium that operates EZ Borrow, is changing its operating platform and the cost of the new system would more than double our expense for participating.

We currently run the EZ Borrow system in parallel with interlibrary loan. In short, we have two methods for obtaining books from other institutions at present. While we recognize that E-Z Borrow has been beneficial to many of you, we must cut costs and believe that having one streamlined interlibrary loan system for all book and article requests will provide better service and at the same time allow us to realize important savings.

We ask for your assistance by returning any EZ Borrow books by June 1. EZ books have a blue paper band. We cannot renew any EZ books you have checked out. While we are dropping our EZ Borrow contract, we are not leaving the PALCI consortium. We remain committed to resource sharing with other academic libraries in Pennsylvania and will continue to participate in other consortium initiatives that save the College money.
